Exclaimer renewal: what the annual price increase costs over 3 years

Yes: Exclaimer's help center lists an annual price increase among the factors that may affect your renewal quote, without giving a percentage. At the 8% rate Exclaimer indicated in July 2025, three years at list prices cost between US$133 and US$1,035 more, depending on the plan and on whether you have 50 or 200 users.

Yes: Exclaimer's own help center lists an annual price increase among the factors that may affect your renewal quote. The page gives no percentage today, so this post prices a scenario instead: at the 8% rate Exclaimer indicated in July 2025, a 3-year subscription at the current list prices costs between US$133 and US$1,035 more than the same subscription with no increase, depending on the plan and on whether you have 50 or 200 users.

In short: the increase is documented, its rate is not. Treat the figures below as an illustration built from public list prices dated November 2, 2026, in US dollars, before any volume discount or negotiation. Your quote is the only number that counts, and, according to Exclaimer, it is provided before the 30-day opt-out window.

Does Exclaimer raise prices at renewal?

Exclaimer's current help-center article on the renewal process says that "the following factors may affect your quote": an annual price increase, an increase in your user count (by request or due to overuse), and an upgrade to a different plan. The article was last updated on September 2, 2026.

A second Exclaimer page, "Understanding invoices", answers the question "Why is my price higher than last year's price?" in its current version (modified September 23, 2026): the renewal price has increased in line with the renewal quote provided before the 30-day opt-out window. That version gives no percentage.

The 8% figure comes from an earlier version of that same page. In the copy archived on July 16, 2025, Exclaimer wrote that the annual price increase had been applied, "currently 8%". We cite it only as the rate Exclaimer indicated in July 2025: the current version no longer states it, and we do not know what rate applies to your agreement.

What does the increase cost over 3 years at 50 and 200 users?

The method is deliberately simple. Year 1 is the list price per user per month, multiplied by 12 months and by the number of seats. Years 2 and 3 apply the 8% scenario once and twice: year 1 × 1.08, then year 1 × 1.08 × 1.08. For comparison, the last column shows the same three years at list prices with no increase.

List prices read on Exclaimer's pricing page on November 2, 2026, with the US dollar selector, billed annually, per user per month: Starter US$0.90, Standard US$1.45, Pro US$1.75. The page states that the minimum is ten users, so 50 and 200 seats are both above it. Amounts are in US dollars, as Exclaimer publishes them, rounded to the cent.

An illustration, not a forecast: it assumes list prices, annual billing, a constant number of seats, the 8% rate applied at each of the two renewals, and no discount. Exclaimer's actual quote may differ in every one of those respects.

What happens around the renewal date?

According to Exclaimer's renewal-process article:

  • Reminders. Automated reminder emails are sent 90, 60 and 30 days before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation. There is a 30-day cancellation notice period; the renewal quote is provided before the 30-day opt-out window.
  • Fewer users. According to "Understanding invoices", it is not possible to lower your usage in the middle of your current agreement. You can ask the renewals team for a reduction at renewal, and Exclaimer says it will grant it only if you are actually using less.

Billing is per mailbox: Exclaimer's pricing page defines a mailbox as an individual email address that gets a signature applied, paid monthly or annually.

What should you check before the quote arrives?

  • The number of mailboxes that really need a signature. Since a reduction can only happen at renewal, count them before the first reminder. Assigning signatures by group, as described in assign an email signature by group or department, is a quick way to see who receives which one.
  • The three variables Exclaimer names. Price increase, user count and plan: ask for the quote broken down along those lines, so each change has a visible cause.
  • What a change of tool involves. If you want to compare options before the deadline, the guide deploying an Outlook signature across an organization lists what a rollout involves, and managing email signatures in Microsoft 365 compares the three ways to manage them.
  • The currency. Exclaimer's prices are in US dollars. If your budget is in Canadian dollars, the exchange rate on the day of each invoice becomes part of the cost; this post does not convert anything.

How does that compare with ATOM Signatures?

ATOM Signatures costs CA$1 per user per month, plus taxes. The currencies differ, US dollars for Exclaimer and Canadian dollars for ATOM, and we have not converted either: compare them in your own currency, on your own quote. A feature-by-feature comparison, including Exclaimer's tiers, is in ATOM Signatures vs Exclaimer. The comparison says where each product fits.
