ATOM Signatures or Blinq: which one for a Canadian organization?

For a Canadian organization whose first need is a consistent Outlook signature for everyone, ATOM Signatures is the simpler choice: Canadian hosting, automatic insertion in Outlook, and CA$1 per user with the Wallet card included. Blinq fits networking better: NFC cards, trade-show lead capture and CRM integrations.

Blinq is an Australian digital business card platform: cards shared by QR code, NFC, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, event lead capture, contact enrichment, an AI notetaker and CRM integrations, with email signatures on the side. ATOM Signatures starts from the other end: a Microsoft 365 signature manager, hosted in Canada, that automatically inserts the right signature in Outlook and also gives each employee their business card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. This comparison is for Canadian organizations on Microsoft 365 weighing the two approaches.

Verdict: if your main need is a compliant signature in Outlook for everyone, with an up-to-date Wallet business card on top, ATOM Signatures is the simplest choice for a Canadian organization — Canadian hosting, automatic insertion in Outlook (desktop, web, Mac and mobile) and CAD $1 per user, Wallet card included, with no minimum. Blinq is the better choice if your main need is networking: NFC cards, trade-show lead capture, enrichment and CRM sync — features ATOM does not offer.

What Blinq brings

Blinq builds its offer around the in-person meeting and what follows it:

  • Full digital business cards: sharing by QR code, link, NFC, widget, watch and Wallet; a free plan for individuals, locked templates and automated card provisioning (Microsoft Entra) for teams.
  • Lead capture: a universal card and badge scanner, event mode, qualifier forms and event campaigns with attribution.
  • Enrichment and AI: automatic contact enrichment and an AI notetaker that pushes the transcript and summary into the CRM.
  • Integrations: HubSpot, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, contact sync with Outlook, and enforced SSO and SCIM provisioning on the Enterprise plan.

These are real features, built for sales and events teams. For an organization whose need is first a reliable, compliant signature for every employee, most of them go unused — and lead capture is paid per unit.

Where ATOM stands out for a Canadian organization

  • Hosting in Canada: configuration data and personal information stay in Canada. If an employee adds their card to Google Wallet, that card's content is stored by Google — our privacy policy says so.
  • The signature first, with no employee effort: the Outlook add-in inserts the right signature at compose time, Outlook mobile included, and picks it by group, sending mailbox and internal or external recipients.
  • A Wallet card that follows Microsoft 365: a title or phone change in the directory shows up on the card with no retyping; the QR code opens a contact page, no app needed.
  • A single, predictable price: CAD $1 per user per month, signatures, campaigns and Wallet card included, no minimum, billed in Canadian dollars.
  • Natively bilingual FR-CA / EN-CA: product, editor and support.

Outlook signatures: ATOM's core, an add-on at Blinq

At Blinq, the email signature derives from the business card: the free plan offers a personal signature, and the Business plan adds admin-controlled signatures, with sync advertised for Google Workspace. For Outlook, the steps Blinq publishes consist of pasting the HTML signature into Outlook's settings.

ATOM Signatures is built for Microsoft 365: the signature is assembled from Microsoft Graph data and inserted by a centrally deployed Outlook add-in, on Windows, the web, Mac, iOS and Android. No employee has to copy anything, and email goes through no third-party server. See the guide to deploying an Outlook signature across the organization and the one on Outlook for Mac and mobile.

Is Blinq billed per card or per user?

Blinq Business costs $6.99 per card per month billed monthly, or $4.99 per month billed annually, with a 5-card minimum; only employees with a card are billed. Lead capture is billed on top, at $9.99 per lead captured and enriched. A Premium plan at $9.99 per month ($7.33 billed annually) targets individuals. The page does not state the currency.

ATOM Signatures applies a single rate: CAD $1 per user per month, or CAD $12 per year, signatures, campaigns and Wallet card included, with no minimum. To compare, factor in the currency, the card minimum and the usage fees for lead capture. Details on our Pricing page.

Hosting and the Canadian legal framework

Blinq states that it hosts its services and data on Google Cloud Platform, without naming a region, and its privacy policy, governed first by Australia's Privacy Act, provides that information may be transferred to or stored in other countries, including the United States, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Belgium and Finland. For an organization subject to Quebec's Law 25, PIPEDA or a provincial law, data residency therefore calls for a direct check with the vendor.

ATOM Signatures hosts its data in Canada and inserts the signature client-side: email never leaves Microsoft 365. The Apple Wallet card is downloaded to the employee's phone; the Google Wallet card is stored by Google, possibly outside Canada, and only if the employee chooses to add it. See the guide to Canadian data hosting and the one on email signatures and Law 25.

When Blinq can fit

  • Your sales teams attend trade shows and need to capture, qualify and push leads into the CRM.
  • You want physical NFC cards, an AI notetaker or automatic contact enrichment.
  • Your employees mostly use Gmail and Google Workspace rather than Outlook.
  • Data residency in Canada is not a constraint for your organization.

If your priority is a compliant Outlook signature for every employee, with an up-to-date Wallet business card, ATOM Signatures meets the need for a fraction of the price. To widen the comparison, see ATOM vs HiHello and our analysis of the best signature software in Canada.

Frequently asked questions

Does ATOM replace Blinq for digital business cards?

Partly. ATOM gives each employee a business card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, in the company's colours, updated from Microsoft 365 and shared by a QR code that opens a contact page. ATOM does not offer Blinq's NFC cards, event lead capture, contact enrichment or CRM integrations.

Does Blinq insert the signature in Outlook automatically?

Blinq offers admin-controlled signatures on its Business plan and advertises sync with Google Workspace; for Outlook, the steps it publishes consist of pasting the HTML signature into the settings. ATOM inserts the signature automatically through an Outlook add-in, on Windows, the web, Mac, iOS and Android.

Where does Blinq host data?

Blinq states that it hosts its services and data on Google Cloud Platform, without naming a region, and its privacy policy provides for possible transfers to several countries, including the United States and Canada. ATOM Signatures hosts its data in Canada; only the Google Wallet card, if an employee adds it, is stored by Google.

How much does Blinq cost compared to ATOM?

Blinq Business costs $6.99 per card per month billed monthly, or $4.99 billed annually, with a 5-card minimum and $9.99 per lead captured and enriched; the currency is not stated. ATOM Signatures costs CAD $1 per user per month, signatures, campaigns and Wallet card included, with no minimum.

The right signature in Outlook, and the business card on the phone, at CAD $1 all included. ATOM Signatures applies the signature automatically, client-side, with Canadian hosting and bilingual support.
